Historic Listed Property, High Street, Burford

Traditionally restored Historic Listed Property in the Cotswolds.

This privately owned large Historic Listed property on Burford High Street in the Cotswolds has recently undergone  substantial restoration from the top down.

Cotswold Stone Slate:

Our team of Cotswold Stone slaters stripped and relaid all roof elevations to the main property using reclaimed natural stone slates made up from our extensive stock plus what was salvageable of the existing roof.

Lead work to all parts of this historic listed property have been replaced in a traditional manner by traditional local craftsmen.

Stone Cleaning:

The Ashlar stone front of the building has been sympathetically brought back to life by using specialist cleaning methods also employed on many of the Oxford College Buildings by a local company, O. G. Stonemasonary.

The chimneys have been rebuilt and many Ashlar detailed stone mouldings replaced, including a new porch over the front entrance to exactly match the original.

Internally:

The owners had a clear vision of what they wanted to achieve internally and we enjoyed working closely with them putting these ideas into practice. Many of the loft spaces have been cleverly redesigned and linked together to give more space on the upper floors. These have all been insulated and new floors laid creating both bathroom space and storage.
